Hi! I am Asher

Skier and lover of everything snow

Competitive by nature, I always drive and push to be the best I can be.

It all started at the age of 2 when I got my first pair of ski boots at the ski swap in Whistler.

From that day on I was keen to learn and have fun in the snow anytime, anywhere. Skiing has become much more than a passion to me. I started Whistler Kids Ski School at the age of 2, having fun in the powder and all terrain. At the age of 12 I joined Whistler Mountain Ski Club and after my first race I was hooked!

Since then , I progressed and qualified to be part of the BC Alpine Ski Team in 2016, and then in 2018 I was selected to the Alpine Canada Development Team. which has taken me all over the world to travel and compete.

Now, I am proud to be selected as an athlete on the Canadian Alpine Ski Team for the 2022/23 World Cup season. This is where I will compete on the International stage, striving for victory and personal bests. I like to think of myself as a student of the sport, with always more to learn.

Skiing is a way of life for me, and to be part of such an amazing team is nothing short of a privilege that I do not take for granted. It has taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice to get here, and I want to take it further.

What I’ve Achieved and what Ski Racing has taught me…

Learning how to compete and what that has taught me is really just scraping the surface. The obvious benefits of competition are preparedness, focus, drive and motivation that all have to be maintained in any weather condition and under tremendous pressure, with inevitable time constraints.

The stuff most people don’t see are the endless long training days, the commitment and sacrifice that it takes to get to a level that puts you on the world stage, and the dedication to achieving goals even when they seem distant.

Resilience, work ethic, time management, self reflection and mental strength all go along with rounding out what I am trying to achieve, which is a core set of values that include grit, generosity, excellence, integrity and humility.

Join me on my journey.
